How will you vote?

Choose how you will vote

My plan: vote by mail

  1. Check Your Registration

Confirm your mailing address with California’s official voter status tool.

  2. Watch for Your Ballot

Counties began mailing ballots on October 5. Complete it and sign the return envelope.

  3. Return It Early

Mail early. Your ballot must be postmarked by November 3 and received by November 10. If mailing on Election Day, ask a postal employee for a manual postmark.

My plan: use a drop box

  1. Check Your Registration

Confirm your address before ballots are mailed.

  2. Sign Your Ballot Envelope

Complete your ballot and follow the instructions on the return envelope.

  3. Use an Official Drop Box

Find a location through your County's official website. Return your ballot by 8 p.m. on November 3.

My plan: vote in person

  1. Check Your Registration

October 19 is the online and mail registration deadline. Same-day conditional registration remains available through Election Day.

  2. Find a Vote Center

Use the county’s official location tool and check its opening dates and hours.

  3. Make Time to Vote

Election Day is November 3. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line when polls close, stay in line.
